18 Months

Wow! Evelyn was 18 months last week and I just can't believe it. She had her check-up yesterday and here are her stats:

Weight: 20 lbs (on the dot...can't believe it...she's finally 20lbs)
Height: 30 3/4 inches

Evelyn is doing some pretty amazing things lately. She loves bedtime and naptime. We ask her if she wants to go Night Night and she heads for the stairs. She loves going to sleep.

We have removed the gate from the stairs and most of the time Evelyn stays downstairs. She really likes the stairs and is coming down the stairs while holding an adults hand.

Water is her new favorite thing. We have a baby pool and a water table on our back patio. Evelyn loves to go out there in the afternoons and splash around. Mommy loves it too because she doesn't have to put suntan lotion on Evelyn. We have ventured to the community pool this year and Evelyn seems to love that too.

Evelyn has increased her vocabulary lately. Some of her favorite words are: Momma, Dadda, Ice, No, Ball, Up, Hi, Hello, Bye, Balloon, and Go.

She is understand more and more each day. Simple requests like asking her to bring something and she actually does it is so cool. But Evelyn is also pretty good at not doing something when asked and just smiling at you too! Haaaaa!

All in all being a mother of a toddler is amazing. It's rewarding to see our little girl grow and learn each day. Can't wait to see what is in store for us.

Zoo Trip: Part Three

Evelyn absolutly loves ice. It's actually one of the few words she can say. So while at the zoo, she got to finish off the ice in dady's drink. The cup is as big as her and she was pretty much soaked the rest of the day.

Sunday, Daniel took Evelyn to the zoo. She hasn't been to the since last year and I'm pretty sure she doesn't remember that trip. Daniel and Evelyn met Uncle Ben and Aunt Anna at the zoo. Here are a few pictures to start off with. More posts about the zoo to come.
